IPL Hair Removal

All hair grows in cycles and when we treat the hair with IPL during its Anagen or active growth phase we can achieve destruction of the hair follicle, resulting in that hair never regrowing. Depending on the body part we can achieve almost complete clearance of hair with a course of around 8 treatments. Maintenance treatments once or twice yearly may be all that is needed to maintain a hair free skin.
What to expect.
A thorough consultation and patch test is required to ensure suitability.
Treatment plan and frequency will vary depending on patient and area of hair to be treated.
You will need to avoid suntanning including spray and rub on tans for at least 2 weeks leading up to your appointment.
Sunscreen and avoiding sun exposure is necessary prior to your treatment, especially in the week following.
A slight warm to hot sensation and a flicking feeling is common to feel during the treatment. It is not too uncomfortable and subsides quickly.
Some folliculitis may be present prior to treatment. This usually subsides quickly.
